Wow, that looks awesome! Great work! I'm a little surprised you don't have more Fanatics! At least 3 per unit of NG! And with Green Stuff abilities, you could probably make a ton of Squigs!

Anton, fantastic looking army. My fav is the Troll unit, I love the converted Troll with the helmet in the front rank.
Why don't you do an Archnarok Spider with Night Goblin crew?
When ever I go to the warpath is seems totally dead, do people still post there?

Thank you my friends. mottdon: There will be more Fanatics, but I won't max out. It gets sick and not really fun for anyone. I could probably sculpt Squigs but they would probably take me four hours each and there are excellent models available so I'll just go with those. My dear wife got me a bunch for Christmas and I picked up a few more so I have enough for two herds of 15+15, and I'll build them so they can also be combined into one horde. KevinC: I might do an Arachnarok, but it's not a priority since I already have two with Forest Goblins and a third converted into a Soulgrinder, and this army has enough monsters as it is. Da Warpath is a shadow if its former self, but it's not quite dead yet. There are a few good painting logs going, some general talk about the news, and the conversion competitions but that's about it. |

I hear ya' about da warpath. Unfortunately, it seems as though most of the Warhammer sites are undergoing much of the same things. People just don't care anymore. That's sad. At least we're all on the same page here!

Right, time for an update on the squigs. I don't have any finished units as I've worked on Squigs for both herds, but here's some WiP.  The Squig Hoppers are a mix of old and new models. I think they go together nicely. One model is missing as I put him in the wrong undercoating batch by mistake. But apart from that, the unit is complete.   I've prepared two filler bases for the Squig Herds. They only have two Squigs each right now but that makes it easier to show what the bases look like. I added a bunch of shrooms to these as I had some spare from the Manglers. They should have another 8 Squigs each if I can fit them -- probably not as old Gobbla and the Squighound are among them! But if they don't all fit I'll just base more of them separately and make fewer herders instead. Also, we've now set the date for the game so I now know how much time I have left to paint. 82 days to be exact. I will need to prioritise as I have way too much stuff left to paint it all. After the Big Red Bouncy Brigade and the archers are complete, I will move onto War Machines. Any time I have left after that I will spend on small units of Night Goblins and maybe another unit of Trolls. Anyone who is in Stockholm on May 28th and would like to pop by and say hi/have a look can drop me a PM. |

Inspiring work! I love the army, there's a lot of models but the paint job is still excellent throughout, kudo! Also I like the Trolls conversion, awesome work to modify all the BfSP Troll!

Squigs ftw!! When i was just a young'un i thought squigs were one of the coolest things about Warhammer. They manage to be irresistably cute along with amazingly deadly. Now i am much older.... and squigs are still one of the coolest things about Warhammer.

Unit fillers are done!  First one, top view.  Front view.  Second one, top view.  Front view. I didn't get any Squigs left over like I thought I would. While that means I'll need to paint more handlers, I prefer having lots of models on bases like these to get that bouncy mass of teeth and claws feeling. |
