Thanks guys! I don't know what happened to the lighting, I took the pics like I always do but somehow they are a bit darker. I'll make another try when the rest of the Trolls are done. KevinC: Duffskull is way back at the bottom of page 1, in Skarsnik's gigamob.

I took some WiPs of the Trolls the other day before I sanded their bases and undercoated them. Troll with new arm and nose job. Another arm. Another nose job, and also some work to his shoulder. The hardest one, the full head and chest sculpt. The head alone probably took me at least 5 hours to do, spread over maybe 10 sessions. Just after I took this picture I realised I had forgotten something ... the ears! I went back and added them a bit later. I also made another mistake in his anatomy but I don't think it's noticeable unless it's a closeup like this. This Troll has a Gorger head, and hair. Not all Trolls have hair, but this one does. He says the ladies love it. I think I'll make him a blonde.

Do you buy green stuff by the 55-gallon drum? Seriously, do you use the GW/Citadel green putty?

That is a very well sculpted arm.

Big laugh here! Anton, very inspiring sculpting work. I've never gotten into sculpting but seeing these pics makes me think I should be giving it a try.

Thank you. wilsonthenarc: Yes it's all GW greenstuff. I had a bigger pack from another supplier a few years back, but despite the better packaging I couldn't use it all before it spoiled. If you're careful to only mix as much as you're going to use, even the GW pack will last quite a while. dannytee: You should! It's fun, if a bit frustrating at times. And it takes forever to get right, at least for me.

I still have 1 unopened blister pack of 1999 vintage green stuff. Have you ever tried a good alternative to the GW product with success?

I still have 1 unopened blister pack of 1999 vintage green stuff. Have you ever tried a good alternative to the GW product with success? I know Rich has a product that he uses. It is about $10 for about 5 times the quantity that you get from the GW pack.

As far as I know GW doesn't produce the putty themselves. All the two-part yellow/blue putties I've seen have been exactly the same. Most suppliers will give you a lot more of it than GW does so if I happen to order from a store that carries an alternative I might get a pack, if not I'll just pick up another from GW when I run out.
If you can, get a pack where the yellow and blue are stored separately, preferably in air-tight containers.

Just another Night Goblin mob. This one is only 42 models. Now I just need to finish those Trolls and then it will finally be time for that 500 model army shot.

Here's the full Troll unit. Unfortunately the old Foundation red I've been using as the main colour ran out and I had to do the last five with the new Base red (Mephiston), which produced a much brighter red. I don't mind a little colour differences within a unit but I might go back and give their skin another highlight. The 500 model army shot. I'm having some trouble with the pictures not getting as sharp as they used to. It could be too much daylight with the snow reflecting the sun ... I don't know. For the next 100 I'll make a unit of 60 archers deployed 15 wide, a pair of Squig Herds and some Squig Hoppers. Plus a couple of characters for the Da Warpath 13th Conversion Competition.
