Thanks, buddy! Managed to finish my Daemon Prince of Nurgle. I decided to name him Golgata, the Breaker of Chains, the Fairy of Vengeance. That level of grandious campiness seems apt for a champion great enough to achieve daemonic ascension. Tried some new techniques with this one - mainly a heavily drybrushed skin - so while I'm not as satisfied with the end result of the model as with the elephant riding sorcerer lord I'm still quite pleased with it.

That maggoth mouth on that torso really works for me.
Huge output.

There is some great stuff going on here. I take a bit of a break and come back to a barrage of stuff on your plog!

Thanks, guys! I've been getting into terrain building recently and managed to get some stuff built on a mine theme. I started out by making three pieces of stone rubble. I then made a mine shaft. At first I was going to add the lamp from the corpse cart kit to one of the outer beams but now I'm not so sure. What do you think? Lastly I made a multilevelef wooden structure which I realised halfway through could pull doubly duty as some kind of dilapidated small dock or something.

After a long time tinkering and an scrapped original idea based on a Screaming Bell carrying the looted treasures of the Company I finally finished my Nurgle Warshrine. The Shrinemaster on it is actually one of the first models I ever made for the army. Ever since I made him I knew that his role in the backstory of the army would be that of a prophet of Nurgle and the puppet master for the whole mercenary company. Originally the plan was to use him as a count-as Festus but following the inception of this version of my warshrine I realised that what better spot for the spiritual leader of the army than atop his own mobile library where he is free to shout his sermons and carry out fetid rituals in the middle of combat? This was also my first time magnitizing a model since I might aswell also have the capacity to use him for his original intended purpose.

Instead of painting my pledge for the month I've been busy making some more Nurgle Minotaurs. The plan is to make a unit of 8 which can then be seperated into two units of 4; one with additional hand weapons and another with great weapons. All of them, except for the test one I've shown off in an earlier post, have been made with the help of the rules within the Realm of Chaos-books for rolling up a nurgle champion.

I'm struggling with coming up with a good representation for the Rune of Nurgle for this fella'. Anyone got some suggestions? His other gifts are a Biting Tongue and the plague Crook Bone.

The obvious one is a trio of boils or maws on his belly.

The obvious one is a trio of boils or maws on his belly. I went ahead and followed your first suggestion. Will post photos of him and the others when I get some substantial progress on them. Recently though, rather than staying with my minotaurs (or painting my pledge for juli) I've been working on expanding my Marauder unit. Since I love Ogre unit fillers I've decided to include atleast one but likely two of them for the 40 man horde I'm making. I think that I'm about done with the first of them. This one's a friendly chap who is carrying around his human turned spawn friend in a basket. Still need to decide whether I like him to be rocking a GW or two hand weapons though. I reckon the other Ogre will be more in line with cultists from the artwork which inspired the unit in the first place.

You may try to use this dudes from Kill team Rogue trader kit for your Nurgly minotaurs. Also look the Tupavko madness blog for some inspiration (if you haven't met him yet) - he is doing awesome things, especially all kinds of chaos.

Seems like great minds think alike, 'cause I've actually been trying to get my hands on those models for a while now. I just can't seem to find someone selling them for a decent price. Never heard about Tupavku madness before so I definitely have to check that one out. Thanks for the tip.

I need a head for this Nurgle Minotaur, I'm thinking either a mutated one or a helmet. Any ideas?

I need a head for this Nurgle Minotaur, I'm thinking either a mutated one or a helmet. Any ideas? Perhaps Boar head/animal skull + horns made of Driads? Or any "wierd stuff" with horns-spikes-rags (as with GW pestigors). Also see Plague ogryns from 40k (Forgeworld) I'll add some images or links some later, I've seen it somethere. Edit. So you may use any suitable face/maw bitz (Minotaur/Ogre/Troll/maw from boar or chaos doggy) and add the rest "nurgly" stuff. About helmet for it - perhaps snail shell (or nurgle bell) is ok?

Thanks for the suggestions and inspirational pics, Crazy! I'm quite intrigued by your ideas of some kind of conch as a helmet for him and/or the pestigor raggy cloth and wiry horns. I do also like the notion of a bestial skull, allthough I think I would prefer it to be a mask of some sort - maybe I should see how he'd look with that and some more skeletal bits to the rest of his armour? Will have to see what suitable bits I have and play around with the ideas. Furthemore, I should really get my hands on that Rotten Factory mino someday. On another note I've recently gotten some work done on my second regiment of Nurgle Ogres. The point of struggle at this moment is on how to go about making the models on the farthest left and right look more landsknetchy. At the very least I want them to look like they've seen some mercenary service in the empire before they succumbed to the taint of Chaos.

At the very least I want them to look like they've seen some mercenary service in the empire before they succumbed to the taint of Chaos. Typical Empire features are prominent codpieces, feathers in their caps, strapping an Empire shield onto their armour (maybe over a shoulder). A lot can just be done via the paintjob, e.g. giving them striped trousers or quartered uniforms.
