Can't go wrong with adding more angry cow men to the force.

In the hope of getting out of my hobbying funk I've dived headlong into a old project, namely some reiter-themed Marauder Horsemen. Still got a fair bit more to do with them before they're ready to be painted. I'm envisioning them as a band of horrible rogues who've taken up employment within the Mercenary Company as a sort of alliance of conveniance since it gives their reaving ways atleast some semblence of legitimacy. As a result I'm trying to come up with ways to sell them as pillaging raiders without any noticeable gifts from the Grandfather. As always, if anyone have some suggestions, ideas or input I'm all ears.

I really like this idea. But I think removing the feathers from those that still have them would work best (or maybe paint them in drab and brownish colours?). Feathers, I think, are just so strongly associated with The empire that I actually thought they were a unit of pistoliers at first.
But maybe I'm completely off and once painted they'll look even better because of the featers.

Model some loot that they've pillaged onto them? Sackfuls of coins, bottles of wine, and of course a few trophy heads tied onto their tack by the hair.

I definitely see what you're saying though. While I don't want them not to look like pistoliers they should also be clearly distinguishable as belonging to a chaos army. Model some loot that they've pillaged onto them? Sackfuls of coins, bottles of wine, and of course a few trophy heads tied onto their tack by the hair. Oh, that's an excellent idea! I've already tried going for a skull and bone-theme for one of them so it makes sense that he'd also carry some more such grisly trophies on his horse if nowhere else.
