Nice Dragons. I prefer the downbeat one. Not going to pay the $100+ price tag though.

I’m guessing these are smaller than the other two? If so they could also be used as drake riders for war of the beard scenarios 😁 I also very much like these (bar the comet stuff).

Not a new release, but this is interesting and promising news: www.warhammer-community.com/2021/08/09/kill-team-octarius-a-pre-order-promise/ - GW has acknowledged the problem with high-demand boxed sets selling out straight away, and is pledging going forwards that anyone who orders on launch weekend will get one (though it may be "Made to Order" and thus take a while to arrive if the orders go above their initial stock levels). Their text: We’ve all been there on pre-order day – we set our alarm, logged into our Games-Workshop.com account, and braced ourselves to set the world speed record for adding items to a cart… all in the hope of getting that awesome new launch box. And we’ve probably all missed out on something we really wanted because we weren’t fast enough, the doorbell rang, our cat spilled coffee on the keyboard, or scalpers got there first.
Well, not this time!
Running out of stock sucks. We know we’ve let you down in the past – so we’re going to do something about it, right now.
This weekend, Games Workshop is making a promise to everyone who orders Kill Team: Octarius during the pre-order weekend – we guarantee you’ll get a copy. Simple!
So, feel free to answer that doorbell or take your cat downstairs knowing you don’t need to scour the internet and pay some dirty scalper a cut just to get the latest boxed set.
Everyone who pre-orders a copy of the new Kill Team this weekend will get one.
Now, Kill Team: Octarius is the first time we’re making a pledge like this. We’ve made absolutely loads of copies… but we’ve been wrong about demand before! So, just rest assured, if you order one on the pre-order weekend, we’ll get it to you.
There’s some nuance here… we’ll be shipping them out first come, first served. If you get in late, it might just take longer to get them to you… potentially several months longer – but you WILL get your copy.
Going forwards, we’re looking at ways we can make sure you don’t miss out on other awesome box sets too. So if, for instance, there was a sweet new Black Templars launch box on the horizon (just imagine that!) then that also sounds like the sort of box we’d want to make sure you could all get your hands on.
But for now, set that alarm… for any time that suits you over the weekend, and brace yourself for Kill Team: Octarius.
For those of you who really DO enjoy the race to be first on a Saturday morning (you crazy sadists), then there’s still a reason to be first in line. The first rush of orders for Kill Team: Octarius made on Games-Workshop.com will also get a premium metal combat gauge in its own presentation box. This special pre-order treat will only be available on a first come, first served basis while stocks last – it’s just perfect for celebrating the launch of the new edition… and, you know, reminding your friends you were first!

Frankly it’s about time. It’s what many of us have been advocating for ages. It’s a win win for them. They get happy customers and to maximise sales with minimal stock risk as they are pre-orders and sales.

The ruins could be very cool for Mordheim use.

Moderately interesting Black Library book coming next week: www.warhammer-community.com/2021/08/22/sunday-preview-warhammer-launches-alongside-gladiatorial-gameplay-and-fantastic-fiction/"First among next week’s literary pre-orders is The Art of Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer Fantasy Battles. This hardback A4 book contains a stunning collection of artwork from both the World-that-Was and the Mortal Realms, featuring character portraits, landscapes, depictions of epic battles, and more. Not only is this a beautiful edition packed with gorgeous art from various eras of Warhammer, but it contains insights into the artists’ transition from the Old World to the Age of Sigmar to boot."

I would pay a lot of money for a decent book containing all or most of the artwork from old WFB content but I don't need any sigmarine or cow elf pictures.
Hopefully we get some awesome stuff once GW is ready to sell us the Old World setting again.

Just come across this model - "Holga Clovenhorn, Aspiring Champion of Chaos", which is apparently an event exclusive: For any Londoners, it'll be available at Tottenham Court Road's reopening this weekend. Pretty cool model, but not something I'm going to head into central London for.

I was actually in their store today. It’s moved location (3 doors down) and is probably double the size. They could easily fit in a good number of 6*4 tables as well as the standard small ones and with space to spare. The shelves were a bit sparse as they are still getting in stock but will have a much greater range of specialist games and even forgeworld stuff (the shelves are up just nothing on them at present). And (as per the manager) this will include the new box for the release of the old world... And before I digress further, the reopening will last the whole of next week and they’ll have all the recent limited edition models for sale (they have a chunk on display in a case). If you are a 40K fan there is a good selection including a box of two pretty cool looking command tanks (landraider and rhino chassis).

Those Dol Guldur ruins get me aroused for all the wrong reasons... great for O&G, Chaos or Skaven themed terrain! I need some. I would pay a lot of money for a decent book containing all or most of the artwork from old WFB content but I don't need any sigmarine or cow elf pictures. Hopefully we get some awesome stuff once GW is ready to sell us the Old World setting again. Same here! I have indeed high hopes for something like this - and can't see GW missing the chance to cash in on our oldtimers nostalgia. Well, they can take my money!

To be fair: I like how this model takes some design elements from Nightgoblins and builds on them. Could be useful for a small diorama/unitfiller themed around "getting that ball chained to a Fanatic".
Other than that... WTF GW? Four whole seasons of WH:U, and still no warband for Cities of Sigmar? Like... do regular humans, dwarfs and elves even exist in the mind of GWs designers these days? I guess not. Consider me unimpressed...

And (as per the manager) this will include the new box for the release of the old world... Did he give anymore details on it? Will it be plastic or resin? Any idea on which factions will be in it? I know he probably won't have spilt any beans yet but I live in hope
