I think the horns are actually supposed to form a crescent moon. I have to admit, it's all growing on me. While I would probably heavily modify most of it to fit my HE army, I'm digging the overall aesthetic. I think what has REALLY won me over is the choice of color palette. I may just have to come back to my army and update them in these colors! The girl with the vale....wow. Everyone needs to take a moment to go back and really LOOK at that pic. Look at the detail. The eyebrows, eyelashes, skin tone (that's not just flesh color with a wash applied!), the crown Laurel (look at how many highlight colors are just in that!), etc. Now realize just how small that is and how steady your hand would have to be to paint at that scale.....wow. I'm sorely tempted to get that Teclis model. Not for Teclis, but for the Griffon. I have some spare Deathclaw bits that I'd love to use, and (depending on scale) could look amazing on that body. Teclis himself, could be stuck on a flight rod, given a 20mm square base and boom! You now have an Old World Teclis. (The crescent moon might need a bit of modification.) I like the mage. Head swap, yes, but the rest is totally useable. The super-thin connection point where his seat meets the rock, concerns me though. True to HE form though. The archers look good. Not sure I'd want to buy, what, 3? boxes of them though. Especially at GW's current pricing. The banner's okay. Doesn't bother me, but nothing to write home about. You know what you say about Teclis makes sense. Together, I don't like them. As a stand alone beast the faceplate griffon is ok and Teclis would actually look pretty epic on the top of an arcane vortex or even that floating rock structure the other mage is sitting on. Great painting on these minis by Eavy Metal. That floating mage structure is excellent.

The Elves are cool if you swap the weapon heads for axes or something, and give them different helmets. The actual bodies, poses, armour cloaks etc. are great.

Cow elves.... if they wanted a cow theme why not do chaos dwarfs.
I really dislike this new theme.

Why are the High Elves now recruiting from dairy farms?!

That just about sums up the cow elves.

From a purely non-eighth edition standpoint the Alarith Spirit of the Mountain model looks good and would be a fun model to paint up. Though I feel it’s use in eighth other then as a standin for a giant for example is limited. However others may think differently? On the whole I think the new interation of the high elves is interesting and could transfer over to eighth easily. Barring the spirit model discussed previously, although I’d hoped for more information on the old world project. This may come next week instead.

In the archaon novel, there is a lot of talk about the different warbands he encounters up in the wastes. That is how i view all of these warcry warbands from an 8th ed lense.

Oh my me.
They really took a left turn with the new Ælves haha. Jesus christ.
Technically they're made amazingly. Technically.
But they're the most shoehorned-looking jamboree noun-generation models I have ever seen GW do.
"mountain. cow. hammer. elves?",
"OK, gw design team, you heard the machine, get to work!"

I feel it’s use in eighth other then as a standin for a giant for example is limited. I think that it would make an excellent base for a neat Daemon Prince/Greater Daemon of Slaanesh conversion. Besides that however, I agree that there seems to be little place for it within 8th ed.

I hadn’t considered it as a daemon prince stand in Sweet-Totally. Though I think your right with some conversion work it would make a different and interesting looking daemon Prince.
