Which armies do you own and play? I'm looking at forces of say 1500 points plus as these could be considered starting armies. I own a troll - doesn't mean I have an Orc and goblin army Greg

I have 9 armies, the smallest of which is over 3000 points at this point and my newest (Skaven). I've only managed to get one game in with them, but I've played multiple games with the rest. About five (maybe six by now) are over 10K points with the Empire being my largest and most experienced.

I have O&G, Vampires, Dwarfs, Daemons, Chaos Dwarfs (still mostly unpainted) & Dark Elves (mostly unpainted).
I kind of share my brothers stuff too. He has High Elves, Empire, Warriors of Chaos.
I have a fair chunk of metal Skaven too but it's kind of a random selection and needs stripping
They are all generally 3k+ points

My armies range from ~1000 points and currently not legal (My Ogre Kingdoms; I don't have enough core) to ~14,000 points and almost entirely painted (my WoC)
I've set a goal for myself to get every army I have up to 2000 points of painted models. I'm currently slogging through Skaven (almost done!); Dark Elves are next.
I own every army EXCEPT:
Orcs and goblins Tomb Kings Vampire Counts High Elves Wood Elves

I have main Wood Elves but can probebly deploy 3000-4000p of suboptimal High Elves and Warriors of Chaos. I were suppose to also collect Dark Elves but my neighbour wanted to collect them so started WoC instead to maximize diffrent armies among neighbours. But I can problebly put up an suboptimal list with 1500p of a started battalion and alot of cold ones and expensive heroes.
But I am struggeling to get games of, have only played Wood Elves. Always seems to be someones kid thats sick at the moment.

I didn't include these guys alongside Dogs of ar as they're not considered by many as a main stream army. However they do get played from time to time. The reason I posted this was firstly I'm curious what armies are out there and what sort of spread of experience we have as a group. Nice to see that of the 8 voters so far we have at least one player in each and every army. I'm sure the numbers will change but I'm a little suprised that while everyone says they hate Dwarves it's actually the most popular choice at the moment. Thanks Greg

I selected (1) Tomb Kings, then (2) Warriors of Chaos, then (3) Beastmen, and (4) Empire. Those are the Armies I have played in the past 12 months. The Beastmen are on my painting table right now. They will be ready for full action by November 1st. I also own a Dwarf army, but haven't had a good reason to play it recently. I still don't have the 8th edition Dwarf book I also own a pile of Wood Elves and High Elves. They are mostly stripped old metal and some unpainted plastic. That will be my next great project! An allied Elf raiding force.

I haven't played in a while ( ) but I've played four armies. I'm getting things together for a Lizardman army, but haven't started assembly or painting much less playing. Skaven, Bretonnia, and Dwarves are all in the 6000-6500 point range. Dark Elves... well, they're so darn much fun to assemble and kitbash and convert and paint I've got well over 15,000 points. And more on the way.

The LoA is basically a full 8th list. Some (me) would say they are a more legit 8th list than Skaven, Beastmen & Brets I also own a Dwarf army, but haven't had a good reason to play it recently. I still don't have the 8th edition Dwarf book I really like the new Dwarf book, you are in for a treat when you get it Mighty Dawi out in front atm

We play seven armies. Some with a lot of proxies. A man can only buy so many chariots.

Got some of my friends into 8th (hooray!) so all of my armies have been seeing action (have one of each).
Another vote for Chaos Dwarfs being a legit army (and actually having an 8th update!).

The only thing more legit than the Chaos Dwarf Army Book is the Chaos Dwarf Tall Hats. The only thing more legit than the Chaos Dwarf Tall Hats would be a Chaos Dwarf Curly Beard IN REAL LIFE.
Seriously. If someone showed up to a Tourney with black hair curled and manicured thusly - All he would need to do is put his Chaos Dwarf Army on the table and I would offer him a 10-0 Win and suggest we still play for fun anyway.

Ok, so do you consider DoW a legal army?
Don't get me wrong I've played against CD in tournaments a few times but it's not a published GW book - or at least one I have, what's it called again?
