Took this survey as well, diplomatically expressed an interest in WFB being supported again. I've heard rumors of WFB being supported via Forgeworld, as I guess they do an alternate 40k version of "Warhammer 30k", whatever that means. At this point I'd love to see WFB continued to be supported by GW in any capacity, Forgeworld included, so here's hoping. moopymorkyfeet, that's great to hear. Where did you hear this rumor of WFB being supported by Forgeworld? Also, was there any more info? Would they support 8th with new stuff or create a new edition?

Not for nothing, but I just bought two packs (at $25/ea) of GW's Creeping Vines. These were recently a "Featured Product" in an issue of White Dwarf magazine. Which I also still subscribe too. GW, please take my money.

KevinC I think the 30K story is very different for 40K then for WFB/AoS. There is a very big interest in Horus Heresy (the Black Library series is their best selling series of all time), and people have been buying 30K mod kits from Forgeworld in very large numbers since well before GW released a Horus Heresy (30K) game rules set. The Horus Heresy game using 7th ed 40K rules was released within a year or so from the time 40k 8th ed dropped. I suspect some of the folks who were heavily attached to the 40k 7th ed rules set may have migrated over to 30K (which is the same rules mechanics largely with different units.) Unlike 40K - WFB over the last few editions had decreasing sales over time and increasing rip off market competition (Avatars of War, Mantic.) While GW Black library sales were I suspect reasonable for WFB the Time of Legends series (Fantasy's equivalent of the Horus Heresy) never really took off. Forgeworld sales of Fantasy materials have always been small (likely for a variety of reasons.) Things like the End Times, Storm of Magic or Triumph and Treachery might be somewhat equivalents to the 30K release but they didn't have that rabid fan base for them. (I've only played 1 out of the 3!) Bottom line I'm not sure why Forgeworld or GW would do a '30K' for WFB as the sales weren't there in the first place. Now I'd like them to, I just don't see the incentive. Particularly with 9th/KoW already capturing the majority of the folks not willing to convert over to AoS (and those mini manufacturers attached to those projects were stealing GW's sales for Fantasy pre AoS.) And with AoS doing better with sales in my opinion (though I am not aware of hard data to prove that.) strutsagget and wilsonthenarc I bought the skull pack as I'm always using them for decorating bases. Saw a totally awesome display board WIP where they used the skulls as a damn for a river of blood.

If you ever have time please post a pic in my river thread I am thinking of stuffing my river with stuff just want to how it works with a clean river first. Might as well buy some more sculls from my local store

It's not mine but it's up on Facebook in the either the main Age of Sigmar group or the 'Fans of Age of Sigmar' group. I'll see if I can find a link when I get home.

Apparently WFB and 40k were actually relatively close sales wise until 8th-ish times, then they fell through the floor. This was obviously not helped by GW massively prioritising 40k and making increasingly bizarre decisions.

This was obviously not helped by GW massively prioritising 40k and making increasingly bizarre decisions. --------They didn't seize the enthusiasm for the WFB8 initial release. They didn't release any army books for the first 6 months of the game. One thing they seemed never to understand is that players want their army book/rules for their army ASAP. I think they know that now, they released a ton of books for the new 40K and AOS.

Yeah, you'd think that this OBVIOUS mistake would've been taken into account and they'd move on with what was already established and loved by so many.
I think that they were SO intent on releasing lots of new models with the army books that they wanted to spread them out so as to maximize their sells and get better results for each army. Probably a good business strategy, but it simply didn't work with this community and game operations. I think you're right Kevin, they seem to have learned from their mistake with 40K.
