put your arms in the air like you just don't care! Comparing these to the version two posts above is a good reminder that not everything was better in the old days.
Well done forcing your way through, you made the most of it. Now just hope you won't end up with more of them in the bottom of some bulk ebay purchase...

Nice looking 👍. I love the 5th edition bolt throwers. I have a few of them myself 😉

Lots of Assassins! New Shadowblade - actually my least favourite of these models, as it doesn't suit my painting style: Baldie: Bloody Blade: Wolverine: Running Man: Female Assassin - converted Avatars of War model with 2 x arm swaps, and green stuff mask instead of the standard "sex doll" mouth. That's 26 models painted this year. But my missing Cursed City sprue turned up, so I've got 102 so far this year. The backlog grows. Up next: the rest of my Druchii characters - a few Sorceresses, Death Hags and Masters. Plus a couple of Medusa. Then I can get on to cracking out some serious numbers.

They look great, especially the purple bits of robes, I did mine all black and wish I'd broken them up with a bit of colour like these.

Various more characters finished: Everyone's favourite Dark Elf Sorceress model: Not such a favourite Sorceress - the old Morathi on foot model. I didn't like the bendy staff (mine was resin) and when it finally snapped, I decided she'd have a Sacrificial Dagger instead: "Mistweaver Saih" from the Silver Tower box. With a head swap (from the new plastic Harpies) she looks much more Dark Elven. Still has some oddities to the model like random spiky metal bits seemingly pierced through her arms, but it's pretty cool overall: Raging Heroes "Sinzirith". I picked up the model at Salute on a whim, but it's the last Raging Heroes model I expect to buy. The casting wasn't great, but my main bugbear is the style of the model... it's completely overdone, with lots of unnecessary widdly little details like a late 80's metal band's guitar solos. I couldn't work out what the hell was going on with the guantleted right hand holding the sword, so I left the whole lot silver. With a couple of regular leather boots and a less overdone sword in the right hand, this could have been a good model. Oh well. This will only see the field of battle if my army list calls for me to use all 6 of my flootslogging Death Hags. Classic metal Death Hag - see, this is how you do it. No unnecessary details, and it works as a whole: This one's an Avatars of War model converted with a head swap and left arm swap. The original had a head encased in some sort of self-impaling fetish mask, and appeared to be wielding a lethal tuning fork in the left hand. I'm using it as yet another Death Hag: That's 32 models painted this year, and 102 got (until the Avatars of War dwarves arrive). Next up are a couple of Bloodwrak Medusae, 3 more Death Hags, then finally a trio of Masters and my converted Malus Darkblade. That's 9 models to finish my Dark Elves. Unless I've forgotten something, which wouldn't surprise me.

Those are awesome. I'm almost done chugging through the DE core troops. Good inspiration for me.

Almost there with my Druchii. Bloodwrack Medusa: Another Medusa converted from the Shadespire Dark Elf group - it originally had a bow, which wasn't right: Death Hag from the Cauldron of Blood: Shadespire Death Hag - think this is my favourite one, such a cool model: Hellebron: 37 painted this year vs 102 got. I've only got a couple of Dark Elf models left to go until the army is finished!

They are looking damn good. The Medusa conversion is very good, I honestly thought there was a new sculpt out that I'd missed and had to go back and check that it was actually a conversion!

My Dark Elves are finally complete!!! I love this classic Master - it's only the head which is a bit of a letdown - if it had a horned helmet, this model would be spot on. I don't really know what the weapon is, but it looks brutal: My converted Malus Darkblade. I wasn't that happy with the conversion at first - the pose wasn't quite right, and there's bits of it that I think I could do better now. But having painted it up, I'm really happy with it. Spite got a slightly different paint scheme to my other Cold Ones, to set him apart (he's supposedly a "Horned One" instead). That's over 10,000 points of painted Druchii, and I can field almost every army book option (with a bit of counts-as for characters, e.g. a Sorceress on Pegasus as Morathi) - the only bits I can't manage are a Master on Dark Steed or Hellebron on Manticore. I have my first game in ages at the weekend, and it's the first time I'll have used my Druchii for far too long. I'm pretty sure the paint jobs give them a 4++ ward I'm up to 39 models painted this year, but my dwarves arrived, so that's 122 models acquired this year. Night Goblins are probably up next as I look for something quick and easy to close the gap.

Congrats on the 10k milestone! How about a group picture?
Hope that 4++ ward works out for you, I am more familiar with the 'Curse of the freshly painted model'

Congrats and I second the army shot request. 10.000 is a mighty achievement. Malus and the master both look splendid.

Back on the elf train, with Woodies this time: They're only on the skirmish trays as this batch didn't rank up. I've got plenty more Glade Guard still to go, so hopefully the future ones will do better. I've based them the same way as the rest of my armies (sanded base, XV88 rims), just with a bit more grass on their bases. I've got to re-do the bases on the rest of my Woodies, as I'd originally given them darker brown bases with static grass. While I like how that looked, I'd prefer to have a more consistent basing across my armies, for the sake of the occasional model that can be used in multiple forces, so that my movement trays suit every army, and to also match my terrain (which I'm changing as well to the sandy look). Yay for making extra work for myself.

These are all looking fantastic. I especially like the glowing sword on Malus.

Nice looking Glade Guard. The bases look great too. Smart to make the trays interchangeable. Have fun with the upgrade.
