As I recall, the Cold One saddles are pretty narrow. I expect it'll take a bit of work to make the legs fit a dark steed, but it should be doable.

Here's an extra Death Hag, so my Dark Elf army remains complete. She's slightly paler than my normal Dark Elves (I missed out a step in the flesh "recipe") but looks all the more menacing for it.

I just spent the past 20 minutes gawking at the pictures in this whole thread. Definitely a great looking force. It's always nice to see this type of progression.
Army shot when?

Hopefully my Woodies and eventually High Elves will see the same progression. Army shot when... army shots look spectacular, but for me to do one would be a big hassle - I'd have to move all the models downstairs, unpack them from their foam cases hopefully avoiding breakages, set up some terrain on a table, put them all out and spend ages arranging them, take photos, then reverse the whole thing. I struggle to justify the time for that when I could just paint more of the probably thousand-model backlog I have. Also, I don't have a backdrop, and a Druchii horde with a piano and sofa in the background isn't so awe-inspiring. I will do army shots one day, but probably not soon.

More Wood Elves joining the fray - 20 Wildwood Rangers: They can't have been too annoying to paint, as I've moved straight onto a unit of Eternal Guard from the same kit (I do also have some of the old metal ones to do some day as well). The shields look annoying to paint on those though, especially as I'm the type that doesn't paint them separate to the model. The banner on the Rangers is a bit plain - I hate freehanding, and definitely won't attempt it on a double sided banner. There were never any good Wood Elf transfer sheets (only basic prehistoric 90s ones and the Blood Bowl team's one) but I used a "Medusa" head sigil from the Dark Elf transfer sheet, as it looks close enough to a Dryad's head. I might put a little extra decoration on the banner some day (e.g. a laurel wreath around the head) but didn't feel like doing anything fancy at present.

Nice work. I look forward to building these one day.
I did 20 eternal guard and the shields do take a bit of time. And just to torture myself, I magnetized the shields. I don't have any compelling reason why I did. I hope I learned my lesson to think twice before I start a unit pattern.

Absolutely love your greens!
Also will you be naming the various units as you complete them?

Yes, I put some work into my Eternal Guard over the weekend, and those shields are a pain. Magnetising still sounds easier to paint in that you can have the shield separate. Trying to paint the back of them when they're attached to an arm is a nightmare. I'm painting Araloth at the same time, and he's at least relatively fun to work on. Absolutely love your greens! Also will you be naming the various units as you complete them? I have never thought of doing so, but I do often think up backstories and names in my head as I'm working on models, don't write them down, and therefore forget them. So maybe I should.

20 of the newer plastic Eternal Guard done. I reversed the greens on their cloaks from the Wildwood Rangers. I don't know why nearly the entire front rank of this unit is shouting. Probably seen a dwarf practicing topiary with their axe in the distance. I have some of the old metal Eternal Guard to work on at some point. They're cool models too. Also, Araloth. I love this model. The character doesn't seem to be loved, probably a combo of his relatively short WFB history, stealing Skarloc's "thing", Matt Ward, and his involvement in the End Times. It's still a fantastic model. I'm taking a break from Elves for now. The only Woodie infantry I have left is the metal Eternal Guard, plus a few Waywatchers - no bigger units.

Yeah, he really is a nice model - he joins that chaos lord with the spear as "suitable for BsB conversions" too ✌️
