Also looks like 20x20 mm... It does indeed! Oddly the white lions with their cloaks would arguably fit better on 25mm.

I’m a Lizardmen player and I am very excited. I’ll take PDF rules all the way to the bank

My money is on the same map of the Old World but with a new faction crest added.

My dream would be an official Mazdamundi model for Lizardmen as there was never one released AFAIK however I suspect as Lizardmen aren’t one of the “core” factions it’ll be some humanoid on a monstrous mount of some description Still exciting though!

My bet is, they will release a text message which states: No starter box!

My bet is, they will release a text message which states: No starter box! They are currently charging £37.50 for 10 saurus warriors on their website. Considering that you generally need more models to play WFB than other game systems, a starter box would be problematic for them in terms of both price and potentially making the value too good if it is priced reasonably.

I agree. The main question is, if they reduced the number of models which are required to play the game. Like in 6th where you had 25 models in a big unit. The starter box of 6th was fine and you could use it to have your first battles. But that was some years ago...

Both of these are good point, I do suspect TOW might feel very sparse a game on the tabletop. I guess we'll see

But I don't think it is valid. While some players went horde deathstar crazy in 8th edition (my group didn't). It still doesn't require more models. If you don't have that single horde unit with forty or fifty model, you instead have two or three units of twenty or twenty-five models each (just like in 6th edition). Either way the army has the same number of models in total. After all an X point value army has X points of models. Regardless of if you have a horde formation unit or not. I see youtubers and bloggers suggesting The Old World needs to require fewer models than classic WFB. I sure hope that is not the case.

Model count is all about supporting attacks and being able to strike back after taking causalities.
If they get rid of supporting attacks in TOW, then smaller units are fine again. It's all the extra attacks via supporting attacks, hordes etc. that makes close combat more brutal. This is something I like about 8th, more attacks, more brutal combat. Also, in prior editions, if you killed models, that reduced the attacks back. In 8, as long a model is there it can attack.
Thus in prior editions typical units did not produce much damage. I think it's a mistake going back on this. 8th edition combat is the way to go.

In past editions, cav was so good because you wanted to strike first and hit hard. Cav have long charge moves so this meant they strike first, and since they have lances or spears they hit hard. If the enemy unit could even attack back, they would be up against a 1+ or 2+ armour save.
8th edition made infantry more viable, but really all units are better. Cav took a hit.
