Same opinion as karnus as long as I can buy the WFB Bretonnian range, Necropolis Kinghts, Tomb Guard and the Warsphinx i Will be a happy Warhammer. If the roumors are true then I am on the of buying in on Tomb Kings stuff and happy about the Bretonnian box.

Agree 100%. I fully expect the majority of the models for the game to be what was available in 8th edition. But the game needs an actual hyped launch. Re-releasing old models, even ones that were squatted by AoS, won't be enough not enough. If that is actually what GW give us, I think WH:TOW will quickly fizzle out. I am hoping that most models will be what was available in 8th edition. I don’t see the problem here? The models rank up (some better than others but they do it), there’s no need to have rank and file with super dynamic poses. There is very little incentive to re-invent the wheel here, at least not immediately. AOS released in 2015 with two new factions worth of models? And they’ve slowly added to what’s on offer over the years. I suspect TOW to be the same, there’s nothing to be disappointed about here. Every model in the 1st edition AoS box was new. The rumor I'm complaining about has WH:TOW launching with two new character models and a bunch of old models. That is a significant difference. Personally I don't care for most of GW's new models. I agree the "dynamic" poses make for bad rank and file game experience. But I think WH:TOW needs a big marketing push to be a success. That means new models you can only get in a big launch box.

Somebody in a different message board pointed out that characters we see in the Old World pictures are not standing within the units. Even the one which shows an Orcs and Goblins vs Empire game has the Empire general standing beside the unit. This could be due to asthetic reasons or maybe a hint that characters can no longer join units. Is there an Ork character hidden in the Boar Boyz unit, or is that the champion? I can definitely see the old plastic Orc Warboss on Boar in the Boar Boyz unit.

Hi all. Been a lurker for a while, but my enthusiasm for The old world finally got me to register.
Just wanted to point out that the rumoured "dragon" for the Tomb kings might actually be a Carrion.
It's not uncommon for 40k players to mistake fantasy models for something else, and I think that's the case with Valrak's source.
In addition there's already a plastic zombie dragon, and I think any new model released for the game will initially be covering gaps. (Plastic options for metal/resin models etc.)

(Plastic options for metal/resin models etc.) A giant Carrion would certainly make more sense. GW have already dazzled us with the Corpse-Rippa Vulcha, which I'm sure could be converted into a giant Carrion anyway: So a Giant Carrion mount for a Tomb King or Liche Priest certainly wouldn't be off the cards as something that could be made in plastic.

People are already converting that thing, I've seen the Giant Carrion being ridden by a Liche Priest. Looks great!

How likely do you peeps hold it to be that the next info on TOW, which might come next month, actually has some meat to it? With the recent leak it seems like they might aswell try to throw us a bone by at the very least confirm the Bretonnia and Tomb Kings army boxes.

I was reading the comments on the latest 40th anneversary video and I found a comment about the TOW release date the following response has been written:
"Only 2 more weeks until we find out...!"
Maybe just high hopes, but I am keen tó know what Will happen.

Am I understanding you correct in that Games Workshop has confirmed through a comment of theirs that we'll get the release date in "2 more weeks"?

I see. That's less than I hoped but atleast it's something. Would honestly be hilarious if they then just revealed the already leaked pegasus sprue and nothing else.

Eh? The way I read that youtube comment, it doesn't confirm anything besides the countdown will end in two weeks.
