Artillery die is included in the dice sets. So I guess that confirms it is used in the rules. I already have plenty. But leaving it out of the starter box is pretty lame.

New cavalry base size looks to be 30 x 60mm. I'm slightly disappointed that Questing Knights aren't in the list of returning Bretonnian kits - I desperately want them. However, I expect they'll still make it back soon enough, as there's likely to be a second wave for the Brets - this wave doesn't include separate releases for Knights of the Realm, Peasants, Trebuchets or the new foot knights. I'm pleased at the choice of metal over resin. While it's a much more annoying material to work with, at least the casting should be more reliable than finecast was. It's telling that kits previously available in resin (e.g. Ushabti) have now gone back to metal. I am probably going to get... - Bretonnian core set
- Forces of Fantasy and Ravening Hordes
- Bretonnian Arcane Journal
- Grail Knights + Command
- Battle Pilgrims + Grail Reliquae
- Mounted Yeoman + Command
- Handmaiden of the Lady
- Foot + mounted BSB
- Questing Knight Paladin
- Lords of the Lance novel
I'll probably leave the cards for now, and I'm not sure about the TK Arcane Journal - I want to see how much I enjoy the Bretonnian one before considering picking up them all.
I may get the great weapon Ushabti, and possibly a Necrosphinx, but the rest of the TK kits I'm not bothered by.
I also want a load of 30mm bases and the 30 x 60mm ones, as I have some AoS era models I want to use for WFB but which don't rank up on 25mm squares/old cavalry bases.
Expensive weekend coming...

Judging by the table of contents previewed in the weekly previews video, the Journals are going to be pretty thin, and hopefully that means inexpensive.

Gods I've been looking forward to this!
Certainly I'm going to grab the rulebook first and foremost, though I'm humming and hawing over whether to get the Forces of Fantasy and Ravening Hordes books as soon as they come out too, or whether to just wait for the Arcane Journals of the armies I play to arrive.
I'll be interested to see the new prices for the Necrosphinx and Sepulchral Stalkers. I hope they won't go up too much from what they cost in the 8th era. Also I hope packing in another 10 Tomb Guard into their box won't trigger a price increase that's upwards of £40, just look at how expensively they charge for the boxes of 20 Firstborn Space Marines for Horus Heresy... as much as an old battalion box. Still, I'm going to have to use all my strength to resist the urge to buy some of the newer Tomb King models (at least until my 6 current armies are complete anyway...).
Love the fact that Settra's now going to be on an Arachnarok base, he'll now be much easier to rank up with Chariot units.
Interesting that they're returning a lot of Finecast models to metal, though I'm a little miffed that the new Tomb Swarms are going to be Forge World Resin, they could easily have been plastic.
Not too pleased to see that there will be 56 common Magic Items in TOW, I was hoping they'd go back to the proper system of large numbers of race-specific Magic Items and only a small pool of generic ones, but it's not a deal-breaker by any means.

Not sure if you realise the Arcane Journals wont have the full army rules. They are supplemental to the army lists in Forces of Fantasy and Ravening Hordes.

Hopefully this will encourage balancing passes happening for all armies at the same time instead of waiting unknown amounts of time for a new army book, or having an army get multiple army books over the course of one edition.

Hopefully this will encourage balancing passes happening for all armies at the same time instead of waiting unknown amounts of time for a new army book, or having an army get multiple army books over the course of one edition. I do like when they balance all the factions at once. WHF 6th edition Ravening Hordes was one of the best times for balanced games. 40K 3rd edition, which had Ravening Hordes style codex for all factions in the main rule book, was also very balanced time for that game. But releasing the army lists up front this way, in hardcover, tells me they are not planning to introduce many new units (or factions). New models for existing units? Yes. But totally new units? Not likely. On one hand I think that will limit the popularity for WH:TOW. People like buying new units. On the other hand, I personally tend to not like many of the new units they introduced in 8th edition and End Times. So maybe it isn't so bad. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It has probably been there for a while but I just noticed something. On warhammer.com if you click "Shop" then "Other Games", the choices are grouped into different setting. There is an Old World setting and it includes Blood Bowl.

HH has its onw tab ín the store.
