Cool to see you touch Bretonnians Knoffles ! I have a whole box of them but it’s the painting that puts me off. I need to just knuckle down and do them!

Damn! I gotta say, as someone who is also upgrading a collection of Bretonians (From AoS to 8th ed) it is nice to know someone else shares my pain when it comes to this I gotta ask though, how is Norba Miniatures? Have you used them before? I really like the look of the models on their website, but I hesitate to buy from an 'unknown' mini dealer. Also I suggest Veni Vidi Vici transfers if you need some, they are pretty awesome! Plus they are damn cheap! They are not yet built (though one is primed) and still in the bags but below are some shots of the Norba 'Questing knights' and two different treb's. You can pretty much make out the casting quality of them. Definitely on the lower end as it lacks that 'crispness' you come to expect from some other companies but its ok and they aren't that expensive.

Questing Knights are the best Bret models by far. It doesn't matter how good they supposedly are - that unit of 15 is going to look spectacular.

Peg Knights! Something my Bret army noticeably lacks. Thanks for the reminder.

Great to see someone else doing Bretonnians despite GW executing them, and that you're choosing units based on how thematic and fun they look and play rather than based on competitive play quality. I've seen Norba minis' Bretonnians and also their Iron Hills Dwarves for the Hobbit they made seemingly in direct retaliation to GW's hideously overpriced Forge World ones, and I'm certainly interested, but I've noticed varying accounts of their quality of service on other Warhammer forums - some say they have bad customer service while others say they're fine. Did you have any problems getting your Norba Trebuchets and Questing Knights? EDIT: Just read through the previous pages on your thread. Annoying to hear about the long delivery time, but might still be worth a shot if the minis will arrive eventually. And after having just done 16 freehand Yvresse eagles on the shields and banners of my High Elf Spearmen, I understand what you're going through on your Bretonnians!

The army of Baron Marc le Chauve will be a Bretonnian Border Prince army, hence it can vary a little from some of the staples of Bretonnian society. This will allow me to add in a few Empire models if I want to (with a good excuse). The below unit is the first completed of the army. It was part painted by one of the club committee, with a single model finished, before he passed them to me. I just tried to match all the rest to the finished model and that included removing a couple of the helmet ornaments. I did enjoy painting something in a style that I wouldn't normally do and I also enjoyed finally magnatising a unit. Little steps! (And I’ll say thanks to azknight for his blog for this. Although the models are technically KoTR, in the Baronetcy, Knights Errants start off wearing unit colours. As they earn honors the first thing they can upgrade is their helms. Only once they become full KoTR do they gain the right to bear individual heraldry.
