Great stuff How did you do the armor on the dwarfs? For the armor I over a black primer. The steps then went as follows. #1 A heavy overbrush with dark brown. #2 A heavy overbrush with tin. #3 A heavy drybrush with bronze. #4 A liberal wash with Nihilakh Oxide (special note, as this wash is drying you can remove some of it with a clean brush, do this to prevent it from pooling in "unnatural" places) #5 A light drybrush with bronze. This finishes the main part of the armor. Next pick out some parts of the trim and paint them up to gold. I did this in the following manner. #1 Basecoat the trim with a dark brown (I used the same brown as the initial overbrush of the bronze armor). #2 Fully coat the trim with a thin layer of tin. #3 Highlight with bronze. #4 Highlight with a reddish gold. #5 Wash the whole area with a sepia wash (this kills the shine of the gold and keeps it from drawing attention away from the rest of the miniature). Finally we've just got to pick out the rivets. #1 Basecoat them gunmetal. #2 Highlight them with silver. #3 Wash them with Agrax Earthshade to get them tarnished looking. And that's how i painted the armor on the dwarves.

So, I've arrived in Rochester! It was my first full day here today so what better way to end it than with a couple of hours of painting. I finished the Silver Tower Tzeentch character (except for getting some static grass on his base because I like to do groups of models at once for that), so here he is: And a detail: I apologize for the darkness of the images, my light box did not make it out here during the move, and neither did any lamps. Anyways, hope you all like it and we'll see about getting another update done tomorrow.

OK, night 2 of painting in Rochester is in the books. I continued the Tzeentch theme tonight with this screamer: I'm not totally satisfied with it (and I know there are gaps that aren't filled), I think it'll look fine as part of a unit, just looks weird by itself. I also got through with painting a second screamer except for its horns/spikes/tusks, so hopefully I can get that done tomorrow and move on from there to something else Tzeentch related. Cheers.

glad to see you hit the ground running over there. I like your recent Tzeentch slant. How about doing some Silver Tower Beastmen next?

I'll get to more of the Silver Tower stuff soon, but for now I'm working through other Tzeentch stuff that I've already got primed. Such as these three horrors: They're just WIP of course and I've got more to do on them, but I'm trying to paint at least a little bit every day that I've got the opportunity.

Alright. Another day, another update. Yesterday's Horrors are done now (again they're awaiting grass until I can do a whole load at once). I'm still having trouble getting good pictures as I've only got my camera phone and one lamp to take them with. Hopefully that'll be rectified tomorrow as I think I'm shopping for more household supplies. Anyways, this makes 5 miniatures finished since my arrival in Rochester 5 days ago, so I'm in track with the painting pace that I like. I'll update again tomorrow.

Tzeentch stuff is looking nice Thanks, I haven't touched much Tzeentch stuff in years, so it's really nice to work with a different color palette than the usual dark grimy chaos.

Ok, update time. I've not been idle the last couple of days but I've just been magnetizing bases, so nothing worth putting on the log. Tonight, however, I got to work on sculpting some Tzeentch shields for an upcoming unit of 9 chaos knights. The first roughly finished one is here: And the whole batch as they stand at the end of tonight are here: It's been some time since I did this sort of sculpting and I'm really enjoying getting back to it. I plan for this unit of knights to be very converted, sculpted shields, flaming weapons, feather cloaks, they'll be very much "old school" in appearance and they're a project I'll be working on off and on between other projects.
